Sun First! Brings Solar to Mill Valley Little League's Boyle Park

Thanks to Marin’s Sun First! Solar Energy Solutions and Mill Valley Little League, historic Boyle Park (Thalia @ East Blithedale) has gone solar.  The new solar energy system installed on the Little League field’s restrooms generates enough power to operate the park’s two scoreboards and creates the infrastructure for Boyle Park and it’s snack shacks to go 100% solar. The solar system will further the Mill Valley Little League Green Initiative goals of reducing energy and waste.  Players are also encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and carpool and bike to practices and games.

“We’re pleased that beautiful Boyle Park will be a showcase for the benefits of solar power and happy to have Mill Valley Little League as part of our team,” said
Aran Moore, Sun First COO and Mill Valley Little League father.

“We applaud Sun First Solar for going to bat for the environment and helping us create a solar-powered playing field that will set the standard for other leagues in the Bay Area,” said
Fred Quezada, Mill Valley Little League board member.
The new system will be unveiled at MVLL Opening Day festivities this Saturday, March 24 at 9:30am at Boyle Park following the beloved Little League parade through downtown Mill Valley.

About Mill Valley Little League (MVLL)

The first season of Mill Valley Little League was played at Boyle Park in 1954.  Mill Valley Little League started as a volunteer effort and today, almost sixty years later, with nearly 1,000 players comprising dozens of teams, scores of volunteers still put in tireless hours to ensure its success. MVLL continues to provide Mill Valley kids with a healthy and safe environment and gives residents a reason to congregate, as families gather to watch the great unspoiled past time of our town.
