ICT for development

ICTs are very important for the development and the development cooperation. A lot of strategies and websites were founded to encourage development through ICTs in specific regions in the world.

What do you think? Can ICT help or not? Can they do better work? Which options do they have or could have? What should they target?

Let us discuss! :)

I totally agree with your points.

I read through your lines and see a lot of infrastructure. Am i right? Very important. Some of your points already mentioned some things like basic literacy and education. I think that is a very important point, maybe the most important one without it can not function. Not to forget to install telecommunication network and broad band internet. But also a efficient  and trustful electricity network, which is very imporant for all kinds of technology. To start with simple light  and to end with the internet.

I am not quite sure, what you mean with "applying the appropriate motivation patterns". May you explain it for me? Sounds really interesting and I have some things in mind, but I am interested to know, how you mean it.

  • Our system has identified ICT as a key component in the process of development, Making access to ICT can empower people by promoting basic literacy and education, providing access to knowledge, employment opportunities, bank services, govt services and markets and facilitating their health and safety.
  • To sustain this approach it requires inclusion, without equal participation of all members of society a democratic country never qualify as a developed state.
  • Strengthening e- Governance is the key component to solve this issue, which have two aspects that is an easy interface among govt. departments and openness in governance.
  •  Installing rural hubs (Internet centers) in the targeted area which can be access to all sections (women , disabled, youth, aged etc…) and all areas  ( marginalized area) of the community people.
  • Applying the appropriate motivation patterns for the people to turn them in to development process, those can be from cultural point of view also, and showing them the development models which are already developed by using these systems.
